Escort ships in Star Trek Online are the prime attacking ships. These are equipped with a lot of firepower (although less than the Cruisers), very good maneuverability (allowing them to evade and/or chase enemies much easier), and they are smaller than ships. All of these together end up turning these Escorts into a great ship when it comes to battles.
Although the Escorts may seem like a perfect type of ship, this is not necessarily true. Much like the others, their upsides have opposites. For the Escorts, this is seen when looking at their science and engineering tasks, as well as their medical facilities. The Escorts are not equipped well in any of the three facilities, causing them to be unable to deal with advanced science or engineering tasks. Their lack of good medical facilities causes them problems when dealing with their crew’s health. On the upside, their armor and weapons make it so the crew’s health is seldom threatened.
Overall this is considered as the offensive ship in Star Trek Online. Its goal is to do nothing but harm enemies. In the terms of other games, it is considered as a “DD” or “Damage Dealer.”
Primary Role : This ship has the ability to deal heavy damage. Compared to its size, the amount of damage it is able to dish out to enemies is very high.
Special Benefits : This ship gets a bonus to their damage, speed and maneuverability, the ability to load cannons, a bonus to weapon power, and an extra forward weapon slot.

Hello all visitors,
This is the first post for my webpage dedicated to Star Trek Online Escort class ships. As many of you know that Cryptic Studios plans to debut their latest MMORPG, Star Trek Online, on Feburary 2, 2010. As a fan of MMORPG and Star Trek, I decided to create this site. Many of you probably are thinking why escorts? In Star Trek Online, players could choose between three ship classes. The cruiser ship class, the science ship and lastly, the escort ship class. Each of these ship classes specilize in different attributes.
The cruiser class, for example, is toughest of the three and is best for tanking. The science class is a support type ship that can buff or debuff. The escort class ship, my favorite, is the fastest ship of the three and is great at dealing DPS. The escort class ship has its share of weakness too. Its shield is relatively weak, but you can make up with a great strategy scheme. The guide that I will introduce will do just that, to provide strategies and scheme in customising weapons, power skills and bridge officers to fit the escort classes speedy battling tactics. Allocate power to your offensive weapons and shift the shields to the side the enemies are attacking from. If you can prove to be victourious, then skill points will be yours to keep and those skill points will be used to rank up yourself. By ranking up, players will gain access to improve ships and more focusd skills.
